About
Shahrzad “Shazy” Amri is a New York-based art director and multidisciplinary artist specializing in graphic design, art direction, and photography. Her work is a vibrant reflection of her own journey and the diverse world around her, capturing both its grit and glory.
Shazy began her artistic career at Tehran University, where she earned a BFA in Graphic Design. She then pursued an MFA at Boston University, immersing herself in the rich cultural landscape of Boston while fondly remembering the warm, engaging atmosphere and café culture of her homeland. Transitioning to the United States, she leveraged her success as a graphic designer and event organizer in Iran to build a dynamic career in America. Her projects have ranged from creating materials for student organizations to designing for environmental summits and international conferences.
Currently, Shazy serves as a Art Director at Nourison Home Company. She leads a diverse team responsible for all aspects of design, including product photography and videography, marketing, advertising, website and mobile app design, product packaging, and digital advertising. Collaborating closely with e-commerce, import, sales and other teams, she ensures a cohesive and impactful social media presence. Her artistic flair and keen eye for detail make her an invaluable team member and a mentor to her direct reports.
In addition to her professional role, Shazy is developing her own startup project called Sherie Design—a contemporary New York-based women's fashion brand that celebrates self-love and empowerment. The brand is poised for launch when the timing is just right.
In her rare moments of leisure, Shazy enjoys drawing and photography, having showcased her work in New York City exhibitions. A passionate traveler, she has explored destinations from India and Amsterdam to Paris, the Amalfi Coast, and Mexico City. Despite her wanderlust, she finds the greatest comfort at home with her beloved cat Nana, catering to all of her feline whims. Shazy also cherishes socializing with close friends, often engaging in lively conversations over coffee that stretches into the early morning hours.
